Bijambare (Caves, Lake and Nature) & World's first Bosnian Authentic Ethno Beys Village Day Tour

Tour Attractions

The tour will begin with pick up and 45-60 min drive from Sarajevo to Bijambare National Park.

After we are there, first we shall take a nice walk through the forest to reach the Cave complex. The walk is rich enriched with plenty of beautiful scenery of forests, small creeks, lake, fresh air and much more, what will make us have a great beginning at least :) Great stuff believe me!

After we reach the Caves complex, first we shall have the opportunity to see Gornja cave (upper-cave). Gornja cave is the oldest cave in Bijambare area. It is neither a big speleological structure nor does it have the beautiful decoration which make Srednja cave so attractive. However it hides in its floor the most important records of the past fauna and mankind prehistory. Also it is the highest cave so great panorama views are thing we do not miss here.

Later in guidance of experienced speleologist we pay a visit to Srednja cave (mid-cave) as the most interesting and most exciting part of this visit. 
The main cave is of considerable magnitude, 470 m long (along the main path, neglecting branches) with 4 huge “halls” stretching up to 60 m in the diameter and to over 30 m in height. 
One of the halls (the last one) is commonly called “concert-hall” due to its impressive size. The cave is rich with cave “jewellery” forms such as stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, basins, side-blocks and alike. It is presently inhabited by colony of bats and crickets.

The last cave in this three-cave complex is Donja cave (lower-cave) which we also visit and investigate.

After we are finished with caves we pay a visit to nearby mountain-house to have good tea or some great local food as well.

After, we walk the same way but through the forests again to reach the parking and head it towards the Ethno Beys Village.

Ethno Beys Village is the first Bosnian village in the region and in the world also. It hosts a great collection of old Bosnian village exhibits and was built by ancient techniques and original, authentic materials where used, some of them where more then 200 years old.

At the village after some interesting photo sessions we will again have some local food.
