Great, safe, and moving trip from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo and more!

My wife and I chose to spend part of our honeymoon in Bosnia and we hired Sarajevo Funky Tours to guide us from Dubrovnik to Sarajevo over a two-day tour with an overnight in Mostar. The heartbreaking history of Bosnia/Herzegovina is well known, but the people we met in our travels were warm, open, and doggedly hopeful. Our guides, Faruk and Armina, as well as the other people they introduced us to, were excellent emissaries of their country.

The entire experience of working with this company was efficient and enjoyable. The scheduling of the tour was easy and payment was secure. Skender, the owner of the company, checked in on us numerous times before and during our trip. The company arranged for a private transfer that picked us up in Dubrovnik and took us across the border into Herzegovina. Our guide, Faruk, picked us up there and took us on a wonderful tour that included a visit to a home for tea, a private guided tour of a cave system, and a in depth description of the geography and history of the territory that we drove through on the way to Mostar. The tour also included time in Ottoman ruins in Pocitelj and a wonderful dinner along a beautiful river next to a Islamic holy site. The hotel in Mostar, arranged for by the company, was a 5-star, new facility with anything one could wish for. There was also a lot of flexibility available on the tour based on the weather and how we were feeling.

The following day we went on a 3 hour walking tour of the old city of Sarajevo, including an in-depth discussion of the Ottoman, Austo-Hungarian, Communist, and modern history of the town. Armina, our guide, grew up in the city and survived the siege. She was proud of her town while remaining honest about its challenges.

If you are going to Bosnia/Herzegovina and are looking for a guide look no further. These are the folks to trust for the best possible experience.

Tour with Woww!! Factors

Went as family of 4, with my husband & 2 teenage girls. We were greeted at the airport by Skender, who brought us around on City Tour and later Siege Tour. We relished the deep knowledge and insights Skender shared with us about the history of Bosnia, the places, people and food! His colleague, Faruk brought us to Sebrenica, Mostar, Dubrovnik and all around Herzegovina. Many pleasant surprises like riding a horsedrawn carriage with Santa & Christmas Celebration at a school in Ravno. There was never a dull moment riding in Faruk's bright yellow van. We had a great family holiday with these guys.

If you're going to the Balkans, engage them. You'll have a great time, for sure.

 Wow!

Skender is the best. We could not have asked for a better private guide. He took us to so many special spots and continually gave us the history for all of them. He took our needs into consideration and planned to maximize the time we had with him. We gave him a list of our "must see" items and then asked him to add what he thought we should see and tell us how long it would take to accomplish. He picked us up in Dubrovnik, spent the day touring Mostar and several other stops and arrived in Sarajevo in the evening. He met us the next morning and we explored the old town and the rest of the city. Then his brother started the return to Dubrovnik . We stopped part way and his dad took over. It was fun to meet his family. We wished him well as he was to be married in 3 days! Congrats Skender!!

Fantastic Tour in a Fabulous Country!!!

When I visited Croatia and finished off at Dubrovnik, I thought why not take a day trip
to Bosnia & Herzegovina for a day----after browsing on the internet I came across Sarajevo Funky Tours and send in a general enquiry email. That was one of the best travel decisions I made coz I had a fantastic travel experience with truly wonderful insights of a fabulous country. Every aspect of the tour (mine was tailor made) was well arranged and was well worth the price I paid. BIH is a beautiful country with real warm hearted amazing people and Sarajevo Funky Tours is the best way to experience it with. A special word of thanks to the owner of Sarajevo Funky Tours-Mr. Skender who personally managed my tour itinerary and booking-It was a pleasure. Lastly and most importantly, the tour manager defines a tour and I am so grateful to have Faruk Osmanovic as my Tour Manager. It was indeed one of the best travel experience for me coz of him-he is an awesome tour manager!!!

 Exceptional experience

We had the joy of experience Skender during the Siege-tour and Faruk (I hope the spelling is correct) on an exceptional journey through Herzegovina to Dubrovnik. We cannot recommend these guys enough. The journey to Dubrovnik was special since it was only my girlfriend , Faruk and I. The sights were stunning, but it was the conversation along the way, that made it really exceptional. Thank you so much Faruk, we are grateful for experience your company.

Sarajevo Funky Tours - Simply fantastic

We spent four days in Bosnia and did 3 tours with SFT - the Old Town tour of Sarajevo, the Siege Tour and then the two day tour from Sarajevo to Mostar and then Dubrovnik. The guides on all tours very well informed, extremely personable and very welcoming. These tours are quite educational. Bosnia is a beautiful country with many things to offer its visitors and SFT provides the best of Bosnia. From detailed explanations of the history of Sarajevo, including of course the terrible siege of the city to gorgeous wilderness, wonderful visits to wineries, outstanding caves, hiking and rafting opportunities, Bosnia is simply a great destination for a holiday and SFT made our stay very memorable. Our stay in Bosnia was an 'add on' to our primary destination of the Adriatic Coast of Croatia where we spent an additional two weeks. While Croatia was great, admittedly our time in Bosnia was more enjoyable and this is primarily due to the efforts and experiences shared with Sarajevo Funky Tours.
